Mckittrick Canyon

Always a highlight of any trip, we began our hike up McKitrick Canyon around 8:30am. Over the course of the hike we stopped at most of the 27 marked sites and addition poi re to explore an entire reef deposition system from distal turbidite beds to the back reef facies. It really is an amazing geological trail, and highly recommended! Tomorrow when we go down into Carlsbad Caverns will be able to tie some of what we see there "inside" the reef to the whole picture we were able to assemble today.
