Welcome!

It’s a chilly Spring day here in Ann Arbor, and the University of Michigan, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Spring Field Trip -- or Soft Rock Trip -- is underway!  We huddled inside to stay warm for our pre-trip meeting on driving and logistics, and left the parking lot behind C. C. Little at 8:50am. So far we haven't noticed that we left anything or anyone important behind...

This year there are 22 students participating in the field trip, plus Kacey Lohmann, Maribel Benito (University of Madrid), and myself (Peter Knoop).  Many of those students were enrolled in EARTH 436 015 during the recently ended Winter semester, which was a seminar discussing papers covering localities we will be visiting during this trip.  Now it's time to see those things in person. Next stop Coldwater to check-in on how everyone is doing, then on to Wabash, IN for some geology!
